Additionally, as a MJF Volunteer, you will be recognized at graduation!

Please join us for lunch and learn the how's, where's, and why's of volunteering with MJF and listen to past students explain how their volunteer experience put them one-step ahead of everyone else.

Mark Stignani '93 is a registered patent attorney at Schwegman Lundberg & Woessner, P.A. Mark has patent experience in various technology areas, including software, information systems, mobile devices, computer hardware and design, telecommunications, and mechanical. His practice includes prosecution, post-grant proceedings, patent and portfolio analysis, freedom to operate, patent strategy and planning and strategic counseling. 

Prior to joining Schwegman, Mark served as an Assistant General Counsel for Thomson Reuters for over ten years. While at Thomson Reuters, Mark’s responsibilities included the harvesting and protection of intellectual property associated with software and high value content as well as providing primary intellectual property legal support for business development, contracts, editorial, technology area in the legal, healthcare, and financial services information market groups.  As an integrated team member, Mark also served on various executive committees that drove investment in acquisitions, emerging business development and new product development across a multiple set of marketplaces.  

Mark received his Juris Doctorate from William Mitchell College of Law while working for Alliant Techsystems. He had previously done post graduate work in robotics and control systems at the University of Minnesota and National Technological University while working at Honeywell, Inc.

ZAP Conference 2018: Abuse, Trauma-Informed Care, and the Legal System

The Zero Abuse Project at Mitchell Hamline invites you to our 2018 conference,  “Abuse, Trauma-Informed Care, and the Legal System.”  We are pleased to host renowned expert Dr. Bruce Perry, M.D., Ph.D. as the keynote speaker!

Join fellow attorneys, social workers, advocates, educators, and clinicians for a day of learning, networking, and collaboration as we explore: trauma and healing across the lifespan, building trauma-informed relationships, creating trauma-informed organizations, and implementing effective community services.

This day long conference will be held September 28, 2018 at the InterContinental Hotel in downtown Saint Paul.

Registration will open May 1, 2018. Check back then for more details!

On Tuesday, October 2 from 5pm – 6pm, students will have the opportunity to meet with an attorney in a small group setting to learn about that attorney’s background, practice, and path from law school to their current position. On each of these nights, we hope to have four attorneys having these conversations (in four separate rooms) simultaneously, and students can sign up to meet with one of the attorneys.
