From Canada to California: Building Momentum on Menthol Restrictions (Webinar)
11:00 AM - 1:00 PM

Mitchell Hamline School of Law

The evidence is clear: menthol in tobacco products is a public health risk. Menthol encourages youth to smoke, makes it harder for smokers to quit and is disproportionately marketed to African Americans and other targeted populations. After years of federal inaction, local policy solutions to the problem of menthol are gaining momentum across North America. Join us for an overview of local menthol tobacco restrictions in Canadian provinces and American cities. This webinar will provide an update on the Canadian menthol tobacco legislation, as well as the latest on local U.S. menthol tobacco sales restrictions. In addition, presenters will explain U.S. legal issues and considerations in regulating menthol tobacco. Click here for more information.

Presenters:
Rob Cunningham, J.D., Canadian Cancer Society
Phil Gardiner, Dr. P.H., African American Tobacco Control Leadership Council
Joelle Lester, J.D., Tobacco Control Legal Consortium at the Public Health Law Center
