So You Think You Can Interview? Statistics say otherwise.
4:00 PM - 5:30 PM

Mitchell Hamline School of Law

This event starts with exploring the students' understanding of what an interview actually is. Is it an academic exercise (assessments, verbal & written tests, etc.)? Or, is it a sales process? Maybe it’s a combination of both. Students will learn it is none of the above. Moving from a proper understanding of what an interview is, we will then explore, in great depth, the power of the human story and how to tell “your” story – looking beyond the whats and getting into the hows and whys. Students will then be instructed on candidate psychology as well as the psychology of the interviewer as we construct our personal narrative. The goal of the event is to equip students to think more deeply about who they are and how they present themselves to a prospective employer. Ultimately, unlocking the key to thoughtful, deep, and compelling conversation that is sure to be different than 97-98% of their peers.

The Alumni Relations Committee and the Hybrid, Evening, Weekend, EJD Students Committee are teaming up to provide a panel of part-time alumni from our school. Alumni will discuss their paths through the part-time program, how they navigated the job market and what they wish they had known! All students are welcome to attend (not just part-time). There will be distance options as well, likely a call in or stream option and a video recording.
