Hate Speech vs. Free Speech
Start Date: 10/24/2019Start Time: 7:00 PM
End Date: 10/24/2019End Time: 9:00 PM
Event Description:

We are confronted by hate speech every day vilifying Muslims, Jews, immigrants and refugees, people in the LBGTQ community, African Americans, people on opposing political sides – almost everyone with a minority identity gets targeted.

Join us on Thursday, October 24, 7:00 – 9:00 pm at Mitchell Hamline School of Law for an important panel about hate speech, incitement – and the First Amendment. Where are the boundaries?  How do we protect free speech and still protect from harm those who are targeted?

Hear from leaders at the ACLU, the Council on American-Islamic Relations, and the Jewish Community Relations Council. Registration is required by Oct. 21 at worldwithoutgenocide.org/freespeech

$25 for two standard CLE credits for lawyers; $10 general public; $5 students and seniors.

Additional information is attached.
