Justice, Redemption, and Empathy: The Opera of Dead Man Walking Panel Discussion (Multi-Day Event)

Mitchell Hamline, Minnesota Opera, and MinnPost will explore the death penalty, social justice, and forgiveness in a unique format featuring a panel discussion and selected performances from the upcoming opera "Dead Man Walking."

"Justice, Redemption, and Empathy: The Opera of Dead Man Walking" will be held January 10 at 7 pm in the Mitchell Hamline Auditorium. The event is free and open to the public, but registration is required.  The Event Code is #251448 and 1 Standard CLE credit has been approved.

The opera is based on Sister Helen Prejean's memoir of providing spiritual guidance to a condemned Louisiana murderer before his execution. It inspired an Oscar-winning movie of the same name. Minnesota Opera will perform "Dead Man Walking" in late January and early February.
