Film and Talk: Collaborating with the Enemy – Jews, Nazis, and Echoes for Today

(St. Paul, MN; December 20, 2019) World Without Genocide will host a program about the Jews who were assigned roles in ghettoes and concentration camps during the Holocaust and their positions as both victims and collaborators.
The documentary, Nazi Collaborators – The Story of Chaim Rumkowski will be shown. Dr. Ellen Kennedy, Executive Director of World Without Genocide, will talk about the law that the Israeli Knesset passed in 1950 to adjudicate so-called Jewish “collaborators” living in Israel and the little-known trials that occurred from 1951-1964. Kenneth Engel, J.D., president of CHAIM: Children of Holocaust Survivors Association in Minnesota, will discuss the moral, ethical, and legal issues of collaboration, complicity, and responsibility, concluding with implications for today.
